ADAS Calibration – Step-by-Step Process
-
1. System Check & Diagnostic Scan
The vehicle’s Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) are scanned to identify any existing faults or required recalibrations.
-
2. Pre-Calibration Setup
The vehicle is positioned on a level surface with proper lighting. Wheel alignment may be checked or adjusted first, as ADAS sensors rely on precise geometry.
-
3. Target Placement
Specialist calibration equipment (such as camera boards or radar reflectors) is positioned around the vehicle based on manufacturer specifications.
-
4. Calibration Process
Using diagnostic tools, the system communicates with the vehicle to adjust and reset ADAS components—such as cameras, sensors, and radars—back to factory settings.
-
5. Post-Calibration Verification
A final system scan is done to confirm that all ADAS features (lane assist, emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, etc.) are functioning correctly.
-
6. Road Test (if required)
Some vehicles may need a road test to complete dynamic calibration, where sensors calibrate while the vehicle is in motion.
-
7. Report & Handover
A full calibration report is printed and provided to confirm the work done and that the vehicle is safe and ADAS-ready.
